Getting to De Toekomst
De Toekomst is a great match pic for anyone and especially families in the Dutch capital wanting to take in a match but unable to afford or make a 'big' Ajax match.
It is also super cheap for the quality of the football. The only downside is the UK non-league size of the crowd, expect around 500 to turn up. But the new main tribune is comfortable and the view great. You'll be allocated a seat but no-one is too fussed where they sit. Expect lots of families and kids seeking autographs.
Tickets are 5 Euro, with a 3 euro fee if you book via the Ajax website, which also accepts credit cards. Or just pay cash on the day and save the booking fee.
Matches are usually on Friday evenings which may also suit better than Saturday/Sunday Eredivisie games.
Getting there, the same options apply as with any Ajax match, but train or metro from Amsterdam Centraal to Stranvliet/ArenA on Metro line 54 ,or the Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA (train) will get you there. The latter option takes 15 minutes.
Note: De Toekomst is a good 10-15-minute walk from either of these stations, away from the ArenA to your right and then straight on as you leave the station, and over the a main road via a footbridge. The Sportscomplex and Ajax training pitches will be in front of you once over the footbridge, across a car park.
